If you look at the current format now, it's something of a "widescreen" format that allows me to do anything from nice big 4 panels to 6 or even 8 small panels - nice and flexible and is working really well.

The six panel works fine for the web, but I can see how this is a lot of extra work for you. If you were to try to convert Marooned to a daily print comic then you would need to find a new format. The 4 panel works well because you can develop a little more story. If necessary, the first panel can be used to recap what happened in the previous comic so that you can still tell a longer story.

I like how you make your Captain a moron. I also really enjoy your art style in this comic strip.

Haha... I could use a pair of boots like that sometimes.. :D

As for the format, I don't think that a full strip requires that much more from the readers... your style is simple enough to read through, I believe. You should just do whatever fits better with the storyline, I guess... If you think that a few extra panels allow you to do more with the story, then you should go for it and not worry too much about the readers. I personally like having more than just 3 or 4 panels from a webcomic that updates only once weekly.
