Posting a bit early this week since I am still awake. Just a 4-panel today, I’m still really conflicted about the format. A longer more involved format demands more from what few readers I have. Shorter is better for new people and people passing through, and probably lighter feeling too. For now expect things to evolve and change. Today we see Olaf (Ugo left with John), and you’ll note he has a slightly different color green and only one horn. I felt they were too similar. I’m still not sure having two of them makes sense. Thanks for reading.

He’s a dummy!
Haha… I could use a pair of boots like that sometimes..
As for the format, I don’t think that a full strip requires that much more from the readers… your style is simple enough to read through, I believe. You should just do whatever fits better with the storyline, I guess… If you think that a few extra panels allow you to do more with the story, then you should go for it and not worry too much about the readers. I personally like having more than just 3 or 4 panels from a webcomic that updates only once weekly.
Makes sense Kat, probably good advice. Thanks!
I like how you make your Captain a moron. I also really enjoy your art style in this comic strip.
Thanks!
The six panel works fine for the web, but I can see how this is a lot of extra work for you. If you were to try to convert Marooned to a daily print comic then you would need to find a new format. The 4 panel works well because you can develop a little more story. If necessary, the first panel can be used to recap what happened in the previous comic so that you can still tell a longer story.
If you look at the current format now, it’s something of a “widescreen” format that allows me to do anything from nice big 4 panels to 6 or even 8 small panels – nice and flexible and is working really well.
