Pixar’s Burn-e Short Film
Man I love Pixar. They just know how to do it right. Coming up on the Wall-e DVD is going to be another short called Burn-e. If you remember in the film, Burn-e was a little guy who went to fix this light outside the ship. Well the short film tells the story of his mishaps that you don’t see that happen while the film is progressing.
It’s simply brilliant. They cut to the scenes of the movie to give you the exact sense of timing of when all this is happening. The comedic beats are great, and Burn-e is cute beyond comprehension. It gives you the feeling like you are watching lost scenes from the movie, which is what I am sure they intended, a kind of little side story.
In any event, io9.com has actually posted the film in two parts on their site if you want to see it. It’s in some foreign language unfortunately, and the quality is not good, but you can watch the whole thing. I can’t wait til this DVD comes out, I loved the film as well.
Watch it here. I’m not sure if they can legally post that so it may not be there for long, who knows.

I’m sure they developed that character long before they decided to feature him in the short. It’s brilliant!

That was great. You’ve got to love Pixar’s dedication to value added material. They don’t short change when it comes to the extras.
