Happy Friday everyone! It’s nice to see the sun for a few days in a row. I can feel the vitamin D seeping into my molecules. Ummmmmm.

First up this week is a great sci-fi adventure by Sean Wang called Runner’s Universe. Sean is too darn talented for his own good. Sean got his start in the comics industry writing and drawing seasonal specials for The Tick. In 2000, he began self-publishing his highly-acclaimed sci-fi adventure series RUNNERS, which follows the exploits of a crew of alien smugglers. The first graphic novel collection RUNNERS: Bad Goods made several reviewers’ Best of 2005 lists.

The good news is he has decided to put it up as a webcomic! You can jump in right now, it’s only just begun, and get caught up quickly. Runner’s Universe seems to be what Star Wars could have been if it had not taken itself too seriously after the first movie. Lots of fun and action with adventure and great artwork – the art is fantastic! I think you’ll really like it, I know I do.

Runners Universe by Sean Wang

Pictured above is Cember, who is rapidly becoming my favorite character.

I got a chance to chat with Sean, he’s a good guy – and we find out that there are actually TWO Ril’s in the multiverse: yes, Sean has a character named Ril too! Although she is a he, and well, you’ll have to read to find out more. He also has something very akin to Ril’s bioshield. Sean said all he needs is an evil robot, and we’ve got the trifecta!

Atomic Robo!

Just a quick note that I got my Atomic Robo volume 1 graphic novel in the mail yesterday. Oh MAN. It is absolutely GREAT. I can’t even say enough good things about it. I was laughing out loud, loving the artwork, loving the stories – it may be the best comic I have ever read in my whole life, I’m not kidding. I’m only halfway through the first volume! Do yourself a favor and pick up a copy.

Imagine This by Lucas Turnbloom

Lastly we have Tale Tale Feature friend Lucas Turnbloom’s Imagine This. The strip follows Darin, a 30 year old graphic designer who hasn’t done something most of us have: he hasn’t put away his imaginary friends! In fact, they are full blown major part of his life. This is not necessarily a good thing!

Clovis the bear has some serious anger issues and some really bad habits. Dewey the Dinosaur gives a whole new definition to the word “stupid.” In short, Imagine This is about the everlasting friendships between a grown man and two stuffed animals. Oh, and let’s not forget Robert the Plant. He’s, well, a plant.

Lucas has a wild sense of humor and his strip reflects that. He mixes in pop culture references with just plain weirdness and crazy humor. His drawings are fun too. The strip has just been picked up for syndication on Go Comics too, so congrats to Lucas! Go check out the strip, you’ll enjoy it.

Any Marooned News?

Nothing much to report other than the fact that we are now heading directly into the storm of the new story. We just saw John get his shot. Will it help? All I can tell you is what is coming next is going to be something completely new.
