Happy Friday everyone! It’s actually been above 40 degrees for two days in a row. I think I’m delirious. Via Storming the Tower I stumbled upon an entry for Atomic Robo – oh my. My pulse began racing and I saw the picture and read about the comic. I then found the website and my excitement level rose again. I sat in awe of the pictures rotating through the gallery at the top of the page. Like so many reviews have apparently said about it – this is what adventure comics are supposed to be!

Dang. If I could only draw like that. (We artists tend to say that a lot. I need I shirt that has that printed on it or something.) The designs are amazing. The story premise is super cool. (I mean, it involves Nikola Tesla for cryin’ out loud!) It’s pulp sci-fi buttery goodness! I must read it! I click all over the place, but – it’s a print comic! Aaaah! Oh I am buying it – as soon as possible. I’ve certainly found a source of inspiration today.

Sadly, Steve Ogden’s Croaker’s Gorge has come to an end. CG had been running on and off for Steve since 1992 in various incarnations. It was a really fun strip and I’m sad to see it go, but sometimes it’s just time to move on. Steve has lots of other irons in the fire though, trust me. I’ve been privy to some of the things he’s working on, and it’s some exciting stuff. Hopefully some of it will see the light soon. Until then, check out Steve’s redesigned blog, which has lots of great info on his projects, past and present.

Over at Eldon Cowgur’s Astray3, the story is getting very interesting now that Emily has been rescued and is getting some information about where she really is. Plus, Eldon has increased the size of his comic, so it’s a bit larger – which is always good with great art like his.

Speaking of Steve Ogden, both he and I will be interviewed by Tom Racine of Tall Tale Radio on March 17th. It won’t be live, but the interview should be posted not too long afterward. I will post a link as usual when it is live. We’ll be talking a bit about Marooned and how Steve is a bit of a “silent partner” in a way, as well as the projects that Steve is cooking up. It should be really fun.

The Ashcan has probably exceeded my expectations, I’m happy with both how it came out and the interest in it. I’ve given a few copies away and sold 8 or 9 copies. I think that’s pretty good for such a new comic, and I really appreciate all your support. I believe I have 8 copies of the first print left, if you are still waffling about getting one. So far people that have responded back to me about it have really enjoyed it.

I’m definitely going to continue to do these. However, I think I may use Ka-Blam to print up the next ones. I’ve had conversations with a few webcomickers about the service, and they have a really good reputation. I think I can print up a standard sized, digitally printed comic book and get it to you guys for the same price or less (not quite sure yet on the specifics). So most likely issue #2 and subsequent #1 printings will be in that format. Maybe that will make the Ashcan a collectible! ;)

There’s a new (and nice) interview of Marooned up at the redesigned Webcomicz.com.

I’ve dropped off the t-shirt blanks to my friends house. He’s a busy guy and he’s doing this as a favor to me, so we’ll have to be patient. I’ll let you know when I get the first batch.

Lastly, you may notice the voting buttons on the home page below the current post. I hate to beg folks to do this stuff, so I’ll only ask once. If you click them and vote for me, it’s appreciated. The Webcomic Planet one, all you have to do is click it. The other two you have to enter some characters. Much obliged.
