Here’s a little silly project I did last night in Flash. Over the last couple days at work, I’ve had to do a little animation for a project I am working on. I started messing around at home using the same techniques just for fun, and this is what happened. So maybe this is a little idea what Asimov would be like truckin’ around on Mars!

Those crazy French guys are at it again. This has been around for awhile, but I haven’t shared it. It’s one of my favorite shorts I’ve seen in awhile. The style is so amazingly colorful and appealing, and the animation is fantastic. Add a super fun story, and you’ve got a real winner. Check it out.

They also did another one called “Salesman Pete.” You can check out their website for more info.
Maybe in another alternate universe, this is what happened to Mars. Love this animated story.

I just love Graham’s little comic shorts. Here’s a space-themed one that’s perfect to kick start your Friday.
Check out this wonderful animated short. A touching story and wonderfully fun animation.

My second year film made at CalArts
Just in time to still be on Christmas and perfectly fitting into the Marooned theme is a wonderfully amazing film by my friend Dave Pryor. Those of you who bought the book have seen three of his wonderful pieces in the gallery. Dave has extensive experience in the animation industry and as you can see, he’s quite talented. Make sure you stop on over at his blog and let him know what you think of the film.
Alien for Christmas from Dave Pryor on Vimeo.
Self animated film about a little boy who wants an alien for Christmas. This animation was inspired by the song of the same name, created by the awesome band, Fountains of Wayne. After having this film tour the festivals for the past few years, I’m excited to share it with my family and friends.
I really enjoyed this piece by Tim Beckhardt. His style really reminds me of Brandon Graham (King City). The simple line work is very appealing to me, yet is has a sort of richness. It’s something I’m trying to work toward, and having a hard time. Anyway, enjoy this cool little piece.

A dog, a cyclops, and others kill some time with the help of wormholes and hobbyist self-modification. Made in 2008.
Wow… it looks like Marvel is now publishing the Spider-Man (that’s how they spell it anyway) Saturday morning cartoons in their video section. Man, I rushed home to watch these when I was in grammar school. They were cheesy, yet great. And really, compared to a lot of the junk that is churned out nowadays, the animation isn’t bad for a morning cartoon. Looks like this first one has Doc Octopus in it. You have to long that song, too!

Here’s a neat little retro-styled animation for the song “Hidden in the Sand” by the band Tally Hall. Directed by Steve Loter. Never heard of any of these folks, but I got a kick out of it.
Some of you may know I’ve been nicknamed “Major Tom” in some webcomic circles due to the space nature of my strip. Well check out this cool Flash video. I’ve always loved this song from David Bowie, and this is really neat.
