Welcome to the top 10 Marooned Songs list! What is this list? Well, for fun I decided to put together a list of songs that somehow embody the spirit of Marooned. It’s a somewhat eclectic list, but I think one you will enjoy.
During the week on non-comic days, I’ll be counting down one song, starting today until we reach #1! Can’t you FEEL the EXCITEMENT building already?!
As each song is posted, I’ll explain why I chose the song and you can tell me if you think it fits. Sound good? Okay, let’s get started!
Marooned Song #10: The Star Blazers Theme!
Ah, Star Blazers! When I was in Junior High and High School I loved watching this show. It’s quite cheesy of course, but that’s partly what made it good. Here we have a flying battleship in space, trying to save the fate of Earth and humanity with only one year to do it! Drama! Battles! Love! What more could you want?
I was always enamored by the spaceship Arcadia. There’s something incredibly cool about a battleship cruising in space, and pounding the daylights out of its enemies. Even better, this ship is also intertwined with the Captain Harlock series (which also shares some characters, it’s somewhat convoluted). I also really enjoyed the Harlock series (in fact, that might be the better series). So here you go, the Star Blazers Theme to get us rolling. Come back tomorrow for Song #9!

I never watched that Star Blazers.Hey it’s a space animation so it’s defiantly in the ballpark. It’s your number 10 so I think it works well enough. I could pick at it easy with how it doesn’t fit but I don’t think so. A fun little theme song. In my teens I’m sure I would have been trying Star Blazers out and all if it were available to me. When was it on? Was it on before or after 1980? That is a milestone year for me and TV.
It was in the 80′s. (actually started 1979) based on a Japanese version. It was cheesy and dramatic but fun. Has that type of limited animation they favored. Right as I was getting in High School.
