I think I have mentioned before that I drew a lot as a kid. Unfortunately, I never saved any of my stuff, so nothing really survives of what I did. I even tossed my college artwork when I got older. But as luck would have it, a couple years ago my best friend from childhood returned a picture to me that I drew for him after he moved away. So now I have a piece of art from when I was a kid!
Granted, a strange piece of art, but still. But clearly, Squidward’s design was stolen from Pee Wee! Ha!
So I had to scan it in and share it with you all. See below for Professor Pee Wee and his Bodyguard – at 6000x resolution, in fact! I vaguely remember drawing this, I had to be either 9 or 10 years old, I think. Truth is, “Pee Wee” was actually an imaginary friend I had as a child. Embarrassing, I know. I guess at some point, he became an award winning Pee Wee Scientist, as you can see indicated in the text, there. I’m not quite sure why he needed a bodyguard. Maybe because he was so famous!
Anyway, here it is – click the image for full size glorious view. I’m going to have to redraw this for fun. I can’t wait to do it.

That’s really cool; I’d certainly like to see the redrawn Professor Pee Wee. For the last few years I’ve been doing my sketching and doodling on 8.5×11 paper pads, and every now and then I’ll go through my old stuff and redraw the more interesting looking characters. But once in a while, a much older drawing will turn up, and those really are a lot of fun to reimagine. I actually started putting dates next to drawings solely so I could see how much I’ve improved since I drew it.
That’s awesome. I recently visited my parents and spent some time digging around in my old junk where I saved a lot of homework and essays and the like. It really made me pity high school teachers, they have to read through a fair pile of rubbish on a regular basis.
Heh, well that’s what teachers do! It’s good to look at the old stuff, see where you’ve been and see how you’ve progressed.
