There’s so many people out there putting out their creative projects on the interwebs it’s sometimes hard to find good stuff. I think I stumbled on a real good one yesterday. Astray3 is a Sci-fi/Fantasy webcomic that tells the story of Emily, the heroine and her sudden transport into a strange world of amazing creatures, intrigue and danger.

Emily is apparently somewhat of a dreamer, and is once again late for work. When a co-worker attempts to cover for her while shoving her into a closet, Emily is suddenly in another strange world – and she is about to be meat. There is some indication that the boss isn’t quite what he seems – and apparently neither is the burger joint!

I don’t really want to tell you any more than that. The story is 94 strips in already, but let me tell you it’s a fast moving story – a real “page turner.” I completed the whole archive on my lunch yesterday, mainly because I couldn’t stop reading!

Not only is Eldon showing himself to be an excellent writer, he’s an extremely talented artist as well. So you’ve got great story AND lush visuals. What more do you need? Eldon’s chops are as good as any pro penciller out there as far as I can tell. He has full command of the human – and alien – form and seems to draw everything with ease and clarity.

Astray3 currently update six… that is SIX days a week! How’s that for keeping the story going? Sunday’s are generally the big double bonus color strips – which are quite beautiful.

Not only is Astray3 super cool, but Eldon has another fun project called Dick Dynamo the 5th Dimensional Man. (Curse him and his awesome creativity-ness). Dick is a super fun old-time type radio show that is professionally recorded with cool music. I listened to episode 1 today and it was really fun. And again, what does Eldon do? He produces a complete full comic for it – free in PDF form. Check it out – it’s as sweet as Astray3.
