Previously on Marooned…
While attempting to send a message to Earth, John fell ill. He returned to the Martian sanctuary Vita to administer antibiotics, which made him worse. Ugo is now bringing him to the Volotrum, his only remaining chance to be healed.
The last time we heard mention of the Volotrum – the “Dark Ones” – was when Dr. Ugofandian spoke of going to see them in Unbelievable Adventures #2.

brain-juice. my favourite, too!
funny, I read today strip while listening to David Guetta’s “Delirious”
Hehe perfect Irma!
Ah, pronunciation, my old nemesis. Ugo seems like my kinda guy. Looks like John is losing it in this one.
Zombie Martians? That’s something I can really get behind.
Wonderful scene. Big chuckle. Very unexpected. Paranoid symptoms.
Zombie Martians – oo now that’s scary! Me wonders if that has been done. You know John is paranoid to begin with, so being sick isn’t helping him any
BTW for whatever reason I’m fascinated with that flashlight that Ugo is holding. Is it a glowing binky? Is it a Crepno that he has snagged out of the air?
As Ugo himself described in #93, it is a “simple solar lamp” which they charge at the dome (assuming because there’s sunlight available there).
My guess is the technology is not as “simple” to us as it would be to Ugo. It’s probably a highly improved version of Earth solar technology we know of today, especially in view of how much light it seems to be throwing off, and how long it lasts.
LMAO! Love Ugo’s expression in the last panel. It’s amazing what you can do with a single eye-ball.
#100 is just around the corner! Can’t wait to see what you have planned.
Thanks Danny – it’s been challenging to get one-eyed expressions down. I’m starting to get the hang of it, but it seems there are certain things I can’t quite do, or have figured out yet.
Working on #100 tonight – can’t wait to show you guys and get some reaction. I have been waiting a long time to show the Dark Ones.
