Her name is Atha. Who are these Dark Ones? Why does Atha feel they wouldn’t help? Why don’t they live with Ugo and company? Hmm.
Previously on Marooned…
While attempting to send a message to Earth, John fell ill. He returned to the Martian sanctuary Vita to administer antibiotics, which made him worse.
The last time we heard mention of the Volotrum – the “Dark Ones” – was when Dr. Ugofandian spoke of going to see them in Unbelievable Adventures #2.

AHH!! A quest! Risk! I really can’t wait to see what comes next!
Yeah, it is a quest. I didn’t even realize it!
The Volo-dudes better know a lot about humans otherwise we are all in for serious cast change.
Is it A-tha or ah-tha?
It would be A-tha. (long a sound).
You know, I enjoy this comic, and I like that you’re bringing long story-arcs to it, but these days it kind of feels like you’re chugging along from one adventure to the next, with no rest for a little chuckle.
Keeping some of the comic-strip spirit in it now and again would be nice.
Thanks for the input Simons. There’s going to be a serious moment here and there, due to the nature of the story. But I’m always trying to put humor in every strip if possible, to keep that “comic strip spirit” as you so well put it.
Very cool. When Marooned wants to get poignant it really works. I feel for John, I do.
Thanks Danny, that’s high praise.
