I also love the new style. Perhaps you could compromise the old thin lines and the new thick ones with a thickness somewhere in between? Also the shades are now great! Could be even better, maybe, using a softer brush
Thanks guys. Yes, Sal – the lines on this one are too darn thick. I’m struggling a little bit with the brush pen (and I think I need a new one). I think once I figure out the right mix of pens, and *where* to use them, it will look better. I already have ideas for the next strip.
I kind of like using the Wacom to paint in the textures, going to keep playing with it. Came out okay on this one.

@Sal – it’s digitally colored, but it’s pencilled and inked on Bristol and scanned in.
