More with the brush pen, but with some added work with a .7 as well. I still need more varied lines. Tried the digital pen for some shading – lots to learn. On the last two panels, I wanted you to get a sense that you were Asimov in panel 3 and John in 4, so you were actually receiving the line. Not sure how that works.

Funny strip
Although I didn’t get the sense you mention about panel 3 and 4. I believe the reason is that John is a good foot taller than Asimov, but the POVs of the two panels are basically the same, only inverted along the axis that conjuncts John and Asimov.
it works great!
awwwwww…a touching moment.
i knew it would happen sooner or later.
hug hug hug!
Awe c’mon, Asimov. Robots need love too. Even if it’s sweaty man love.
Maybe he’s afraid sweaty man love will rust his innards.
Between the combination of line work and coloring, I think this is one of your best art efforts yet.
Thanks Tony! I’m going to stick with this direction and see where it goes. Going to work some different line weight pens in too. Figuring out brushes to use with the digital pen is my biggest challenge at the moment.
Aw come on Asimov, even robots get hugs every once in a while
BTW, I like that sky. Very subtle.
Wow, I just realized that Wit and I made the same comment? Great minds think alike, huh?
Thanks D – I just noticed I got some banding there on the export… rats, I’ll have to fix that.
LOL! It sounds to me like your both very concerned about two men sharing love… I’m not sayin…I’m just sayin…
Haha! The last panel had me LOLing.
I’m REALLY looking forward to seeing what’s going to happen…
Thanks Irma, the highest praise! Lots of good stuff for you guys in store.
The new style looks great and today’s strip was amusing. I agree with @Salvatore that I wasn’t really feeling it from the different perspectives and it was probably a height thing.
Well as long as you got a kick out of it, that’s all that matters.
I am in favor of the new art styling! The thick wobbly lines remind me of liquorice.
I didn’t get the sense you described, probably because of John’s head being perpetually off-center. I can see how that might be a problem–I always have trouble with converting 2D compositions (especially faces with long noses =/) to 3D shapes that look okay at any angle.
John is one of those characters that can only be drawn in certain poses. Kind of something I have to deal with.
