184 – All and More

Previously on Marooned…

While attempting to send a message to Earth, John fell ill. Ugo brought him to the Volotrum (also called The Dark Ones), his only remaining chance to be healed. The Listener, an apprentice of the Dark Ones – a human woman named Lian Fisher who crashed on Mars years ago – agreed to heal John. In doing so, she fell into some kind of coma – but returned in the nick of time with miraculous powers to help defeat the lizard-like Krosa. In the battle, Ugo’s wounds have revealed him as some kind of robot or machine, making Captain John more confused than ever! Ugo is now explaining what happened to Mars – and how he came to be.

New Readers

Marooned is a longform comic with multiple interweaving stories. The current storyline starts right here, when Captain John becomes ill. Still further back, you can begin reading where Captain John begins to realize he may have been duped into piloting a failed mission. That is the point at which the story of Marooned begins to grow. But for the full experience, you could read from the beginning. Be sure to check out the about page, which explains the story and the main characters.

“What’s with the speech?” OK . . . that was a laugh out loud moment for me. Funny stuff.

    me too, funny stuff.
You should do more of these. Continue with the story but integrate a joke or two somewhere.
a comic artist that I always respected said that he didn“t have his comics to have punchlines, but he had jokes all along the way, so you laughed throuh it and in the end you werent dissapointed.

Thanks everyone for the kind words! Your comment makes my day Argentino. I’m glad you are enjoying the story. Jokes and humor are great but to me it’s really stories that are compelling. So I agree with your assessment.

The good news is – this story isn’t quite finished yet. Ugo will give a little further… introspection… tomorrow. But there is still the big unanswered question: What happened to the plan of the Geborga?

I won’t leave you hanging on that score. :)

And there’s this whole business with Captain John and Lian getting stuck on Mars. Both missions are shrouded in suspicion – and Bob’s comments didn’t help. There’s a story there too.

Every classic mad scientist likes to give speeches to himself, and every sidekick gets annoyed by the whole prospect so Floopy and the Dr. are playing their roles perfectly.
