183 – Serve the People

Don’t forget there are THREE comics again this week. Wednesday is bonus day!

Previously on Marooned…

While attempting to send a message to Earth, John fell ill. Ugo brought him to the Volotrum (also called The Dark Ones), his only remaining chance to be healed. The Listener, an apprentice of the Dark Ones – a human woman named Lian Fisher who crashed on Mars years ago – agreed to heal John. In doing so, she fell into some kind of coma – but returned in the nick of time with miraculous powers to help defeat the lizard-like Krosa. In the battle, Ugo’s wounds have revealed him as some kind of robot or machine, making Captain John more confused than ever! Ugo is now explaining what happened to Mars – and how he came to be.

New Readers

Marooned is a longform comic with multiple interweaving stories. The current storyline starts right here, when Captain John becomes ill. Still further back, you can begin reading where Captain John begins to realize he may have been duped into piloting a failed mission. That is the point at which the story of Marooned begins to grow. But for the full experience, you could read from the beginning. Be sure to check out the about page, which explains the story and the main characters.

Man, That is a cool concept. I am really looking forward to where this goes from here!

  2. Chris

Oh it seems like we almost know the full story behind Ugo’s origin I’m guessing. It’s getting really awesome and I like the sound of the microbrain. I can see some jokes coming out of that little feature.

  3. Major Tom

Heh, hey I didn’t even think of that Chris. Hmmm… indeed.

Yep, Ugo’s origin really is central to the whole thing. Glad you guys are enjoying it. It’s been fun to write and draw. Wednesday and Thursday are the culmination of his creation story.

I like where this seems to be going. Ugo puts me in mind of another robot who served the needs of his flesh and blood counterparts. By the way, have I mentioned that Floopy’s propulsion system cracks me up? Cuz it does . . .

  5. Major Tom

Yeah I love Floopy. He’s one of my favorite characters. He seems to be a fan fave too :)
