Playing with different ways to make Ugo’s light work. I’m not happy with it. At some point I will figure out how it looks best and then rework all the strips.
Previously on Marooned…
While attempting to send a message to Earth, John fell ill. Ugo brought him to the Volotrum (also called The Dark Ones), his only remaining chance to be healed. The Listener, an apprentice of the Dark Ones – a human woman named Lian Fisher who crashed on Mars years ago – agreed to heal John. In doing so, she fell into some kind of coma – but returned in the nick of time with miraculous powers to help defeat the lizard-like Krosa. In the battle, Ugo’s wounds have revealed him as some kind of robot or machine, making Captain John more confused than ever! Ugo is now explaining what happened to Mars – and how he came to be.
New Readers
Marooned is a longform comic with multiple interweaving stories. The current storyline starts right here, when Captain John becomes ill. Still further back, you can begin reading where Captain John begins to realize he may have been duped into piloting a failed mission. That is the point at which the story of Marooned begins to grow. But for the full experience, you could read from the beginning. Be sure to check out the about page, which explains the story and the main characters.

Oh an albino eh, that’s different, they all come in green except sometimes but very rarely they come in white.
I like the switch back to the present, eventually I hope we here a bit about Earth as well, maybe after an adventure or two later.
BTW the light reminds me of this company I recently interviewed at called LELO.
Here’s the breakdown of colors we’ve seen so far. There’s the albinos. For males, the two shades of green (Ugofandian and Egondel) and a blue-green that we have only seen once. Females, red (Atha), pink (Ril) and a color you haven’t seen yet.
At some point, we will find out more about what’s going on with Earth. It’s certainly something that John and Lian have an interest in.
I was going through the character list and I can’t help but think Bob the Robot will make a comeback at some point. He’s simply to evil to actually die for good.
Hmmm… I wonder. He *is* still on planet…
Not just *any* albino, but… the WORST of them! YEAH! heh heh Take that, albino monk from Angels and Demons!
I’m not familiar with that movie, but I’m guessing he was not a good guy!
Angels and Demons is by the guy that wrote the DaVinci Code. I don’t think I saw the movie, but I did read the book, and the albino monk was definitely not a good guy.
In all seriousness, is there a such thing as a good albino?
There was also a bad albino in some western I saw… maybe Silverado? Yeah, they’re all bad!
Hm, thinking… good albino… “albino” is the name for the goodguy side in the latter books of Ted Dekker’s circle trilogy, although they’re technically albinos. There was a really cute albino koala in a nature article I read. And an albino girl in one of my dad’s college classes who seems to have been a decent enough young lady. Yeah, and there was an albino badger in a Redwall book, who was kinda crazy but had a heroic death anyway.
Wow! Exceptions to every generalization!
Sorry–meant to say “technically not albinos” on the Ted Dekker note.
