Previously on Marooned…

While attempting to send a message to Earth, John fell ill. Ugo brought him to the Volotrum (also called The Dark Ones), his only remaining chance to be healed. The Listener, an apprentice of the Dark Ones – a human woman named Lian Fisher who crashed on Mars years ago – agreed to heal John. In doing so, she has fallen into some kind of coma. Meanwhile, the dangerous Krosa are approaching to attack. John, Ugo and Asimov will try and help the Dark Ones repel them.

Ouch… Not a wise idea to insult the robot.

I love bowling, it’s one of those things I used to do as a kid all the time but rarely get a chance to do now. Technically I guess Ugo is really doing a mix between bowling and hammer throw, but who’s really keeping score.

It’s great that John thinks he’s been the one kicking rear and taking names so much so that he now has a sidekick. I guess being a hero is all about personality and way less about ability, hehe.

    lizardking is falling apart?

Sometimes your titles evoke songs. Ever hear “Take the pinheads bowling”?

    Take the Krosa bowling…
    Take them bowling…

Nice seeing the action. Boom! Pow! Zot! Stupid rocklizards.

  5. Major Tom

No I haven’t – it’s all kind of like an old Batman episode eh?!

  6. dgriff13

    who knew aliens could bowl?

  7. Major Tom

    Hey Major Tom,

i just finished reading thru all the strips in a single session and i have to say the whole story is fabulous, very exciting and the balance of jokes to action and danger is just right.
I really liked how the characters evolved and got their profile during the course of this series. Gotta love Ril and Ugo both for their comments on the earthlings behavior aswell as their kindness in integrating em into their society:)
Anyhow this is a huge series already, my favorite strip after all the pages would now be the one in wich Ril tells asimov that she switched the labels on the rubiks cube…that was something that anyone that ever had one could relate to i bet.
It must have been loads of work and fantasy to develop that universe and design, thanks for putting this online for us to read.
I stumbled upon this comic via the ‘Process Diary’ and Moon Town aswell as Fetch the Bee and i have to say that these really got me back into reading comics frequently, so i have to pull my hat for you the artists.
    Best regards and appreciation!

Wow Nixon! Thank you SO much for taking the time to write your thoughts on the strip. This has really made my day! It is indeed a lot of work, but it is very gratifying to hear that you enjoyed it the way you did.

Really it’s meant to be read how you just read it now in some ways. You really get the flow that way.

Thanks again, and don’t be a stranger!

  13. Nixon

    hey again:)
thx for that nice reply and welcome:)..its a pleasure to give feedback on this, glad u liked it!
Another major point for me in the storyline was the appearance of Bob, it was very unexpected and by being evil and sticking with his plan he added that extra bit of dramatics for the first time. The whole pace and tension changed for me at that point. Since the nice aliens didn’t seem to bother to get rid of John and thought of him as useless it was cool to have some bad guys introduced. There are so many details that i might have missed so i’m sure to check in every now and then.

Happy Thanksgiving weekend to You and the Marooned community!!!

Thanks again Nixon. Yeah, Bob was a lot of fun and that was when the story picked up in the strip. Have a great holiday!
