155 – 20 Seconds

Previously on Marooned…

While attempting to send a message to Earth, John fell ill. Ugo brought him to the Volotrum (also called The Dark Ones), his only remaining chance to be healed. The Listener, an apprentice of the Dark Ones – a human woman named Lian Fisher who crashed on Mars years ago – agreed to heal John. In doing so, she has fallen into some kind of coma. Meanwhile, the dangerous Krosa are approaching to attack. John, Ugo and Asimov will try and help the Dark Ones repel them.

    The seventh panel was really well done. I’m not sure if it was intentional but it kinda looks like the speech bubble is trying to follow it’s head.

    Great piece, Tom. I think action sequences are hard to get right and you did a nice job here. Looks like it would take a long time.

    Thanks Og :) Time consuming and tough for sure. Monday’s is another action sequence (in fact, the next handful are! ugh.) and I’m handling it a bit different based on your suggestions. I think it will be easier and better.

    The upper right panel is great. It looks like something out of the old Scooby Doo episodes.

    Part of me wants John to have gotten some ability as a result of the disease changing natures within him, but I’m a super hero fanboy, and I needs me some superpowers. Ugo being a robot would be awesome also. I am looking toward the fight scenes with an alien miscegenation of hippo and alligator. HUZZAH.

    Thanks for the comments abstract :) It’s important to me in a lot of ways that John is just your normal, average guy. And we have Lian who has already shown some power.

    Love your description of the Krosa, because it really is very much a mixture of those two animals!
