Thanks Eddie!

A big thanks goes out to Eddie Pittman who took his personal time to help me out with the cavern walls. I’ve been struggling with making them look the way I want to. He stayed up late making notes and providing some great examples. Thanks a ton, Eddie! It was very helpful and I’ve learned some things for the future. It just continues to show you how great the cartooning community really is.

I kind of ran out of time on this one, wanted to play around more but I’ve been submerged in a big home remodel. Hope you enjoy it.

Book Update

Steve finished page 6 pencils inks yesterday! He tells me the page should be complete this week sometime, which means it’s going off to the printer for proofs, and shortly thereafter – preorder! I hope you are as excited about this as I am, because it is coming out really great.

Previously on Marooned…

While attempting to send a message to Earth, John fell ill. Ugo brought him to the Volotrum (also called The Dark Ones), his only remaining chance to be healed. The Listener, an apprentice of the Dark Ones – a human woman named Lian Fisher who crashed on Mars years ago – agreed to heal John. In doing so, she has fallen into some kind of coma. Meanwhile, the dangerous Krosa are approaching to attack. John, Ugo and Asimov will try and help the Dark Ones repel them.

Can’t wait to see what they look like. For some reason I’m imagining they look like The Langoleers.

It’s looking great, Tom. I can’t wait to see how this pans out.

Real nice, just on the brink of something, aren’t we? Great work on the cave walls, too. (Tip of the hat to Eddie).

Thanks folks. Eddie helped a lot for sure. I still need work to get it right though. Drawing the cave walls is probably the hardest thing for me. I dread doing it.

Yes, we’ve got some exciting things coming up. Quite a challenge for me for sure!

a very specific comment, but I like how you handled the “rumble” type.

Hey, I enjoy reading your comic, and wanted to let you know that the banner at the top of the site doesn’t look right. It says “A space opera” and then it’s cut off. It’s Tuesday at 8 am EST and I’m running Firefox 3.5.4.
    Keep up the good work!

@Dawn – thanks! I like doing the type effects a lot
@Greg – Thanks Greg, and thanks for letting me know about the banner. If you read this, it would be great if you could tell me your screen resolution and the type of computer you are using. Thanks!
