Dare we feel sorry for him?
Don’t forget about Marooned Classics Week next week! (Details below.) I may have some access to the web, so I hope to see what your reaction is, especially if you are seeing it for the first time.
When I get back, we’ll be on our way to meeting the Listener and finally finding out the fate of John!
Next week is MAROONED CLASSICS Week!
I’ll be away on vacation next week, and since I work without a buffer, I simply won’t have time to squeeze in two extra strips – especially with the story being in somewhat of a critical area right now. I don’t want to rush it, and I doubt you want me to either.
So, I’ve picked 5 strips I like from earlier Marooned days, tweaked them a bit by recoloring them and touching them up so they look spiffy. So even though I will be gone, you’ll actually get FIVE whole strips of Marooned next week! Hopefully even though they are reruns you will enjoy them. For some of you who are newer, maybe you haven’t seen some of these.
I’ll also be putting a little commentary with each one. Hope you enjoy them!
Previously on Marooned…
While attempting to send a message to Earth, John fell ill. He returned to the Martian sanctuary Vita to administer antibiotics, which made him worse. Ugo has now brought him to the Volotrum (also called The Dark Ones), his only remaining chance to be healed.
Meanwhile, Asimov and Ril got trapped in a sandstorm and had taken sanctuary inside Captain John’s ship. They have returned and are now awaiting learning where John has gone.
New Readers
The current storyline starts right here, or you can read from the beginning of the strip. Be sure to check out the new reader page, which explains the story and the main characters.

I loved this one. Seems spot on!
Of course we feel sorry for him–see how droopy his antenna got?
Asimov might be the most human character in the strip. I’d say it is a particular human failing to think we are self-governing and not to recognize a Master when we see one. Nice job…
True Og! Even though it’s a comic strip, it’s important to me that the characters evolve, grow, change, learn about themselves, etc.
That’s why I believe the strip is so good…
Such flattery (but it’s better than flatulence, so I’ll take it!)
Well I did get lots of tips and guidance from this other sci-fi comic guy I know…
