Previously on Marooned…
While attempting to send a message to Earth, John fell ill. He returned to the Martian sanctuary Vita to administer antibiotics, which made him worse. Ugo has now brought him to the Volotrum (also called The Dark Ones), his only remaining chance to be healed.
Meanwhile, Asimov and Ril got trapped in a sandstorm and had taken sanctuary inside Captain John’s ship.

I’m really loving the design of the Wise Ones. That would make a great little desk toy.
Thanks, I actually did a sculpture of them when I first designed them out of Sculpey. I didn’t come out quite exactly right, but it’s helpful as a drawing reference. When I get a chance I will post some photos of it.
Control over the elements? Is that something all the Dark Ones have, or just the females?
Dang! This Volotrum is an earth bender!
whoa. so, stark. so sad.
Nice chair technology !! Cool strip. I hope the wise one can help. What’s that floating firefly type thing? Did I miss something?
Lesse – females only? You’ll have to wait and see on that one. Let me say that the males and females have different talents – and you’ll find that the gem embedded in the head is something very exclusive.
Earth bender! I like it!
Floating firefly – those are the Crepno, Mike. Remember we first saw them in strip #96, when John thought he was hallucinating. The Crepno have some kind of relationship with the Volotrum, one of which includes providing light.
Ah, those are the same firefly creatures as before..cool..Interested to see the relationship..They seem to be following Ugo..
uh oh. NOT what you wanna hear. You’d think the wise old creature with a glowing blue crystal in it’s head would be able to do anything.
Is that stubble?
OH and,
Martian Magic!
It may be a bit o’ stubble indeed. We’re getting to the point of the story now that I’ve been waiting for months to reveal
does ugo really have a sister? yes!
she’s called u-go girl, and she’s blue!
Dang, I left a comment yesterday and it disappeared! Either that or it never appeared. I don’t know. Story line has been great, Tom. Loving it.
Thanks Wit, I never saw it – odd.
@bachterman – U-go-girl – awesome!
So, when does John mutate into some kind of martian hybrid?
Heh, hey this isn’t a zombie comic!
I was thinking more of a native Martian retrovirus that will ‘adapt’ John into a more fitting critter…..
